Long Island Coronavirus Hospitalizations Continue to Decrease!
Over the weekend, Governor Cuomo announced that the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations continued to decline to the lowest point since March! Hospitalizations within the state of New York have now been reduced to 646 after four patients were released from the hospital. Additionally, the number of patients in intensive care fell to 149.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran stated that Nassau County has reached another day of declining COVID 19 hospitalizations with only 35 patients.
Overall, the state recorded 750 new Coronavirus cases with 104 being on Long Island. This brings the total number of cases within the state to 411,200 since the beginning of the pandemic. Long Island's positive testing rate remained stable at 0.9% while New York Cities rate saw a slight .1% increase from 1.1% to 1.2%.
10 additional deaths were reported which brings the statewide death toll to now over 25,000.
NY Governor Cuomo announced, "Yesterday's numbers show New York's hospitalizations continue to decrease and its rate of positive tests remains low, but it's essential that we stay vigilant by social distancing, wearing masks and washing our hands as this pandemic is far from over."
